Flooring installation

A Professional Flooring Installation Service Designed to Last

Malveira Home Renovation LLC installs new flooring for homes throughout Greater Chattanooga and Northwest Metro Atlanta. New flooring changes a home more than any other single update: it affects how every room looks, feels, and sounds, and the quality of the installation decides whether the floor lasts 5 years or 30.

Professional flooring installation:

  • Starts with a properly prepared, level subfloor
  • Uses the correct underlayment and moisture barrier
  • Follows manufacturer specifications so the warranty is valid
  • Delivers tight seams, straight lines, and clean transitions
  • Finishes with trim, thresholds, and a clean home

We install solid hardwood, engineered hardwood, luxury vinyl plank (LVP), laminate, and tile, and we can remove and dispose of the old flooring.

Warning signs

When Is New Flooring Installation Necessary?

New flooring is the right choice when the existing floor cannot be restored or when you want a different material. Worn carpet, damaged hardwood, and failing tile all reach a point where repairs cost more than they save. These are the signs that a new floor is the better investment.

Installation is recommended when:

  • Carpet is worn, stained, or allergy-prone
  • Hardwood is damaged beyond refinishing
  • Vinyl or laminate is peeling, cracked, or water-damaged
  • Tile is cracked or grout is failing
  • You are remodeling a kitchen or bathroom
  • You want a waterproof floor for kitchens, baths, or basements
  • Floors are uneven, squeaky, or soft underfoot

Delaying replacement may lead to:

  • Subfloor damage from moisture
  • Trip hazards from lifting or buckling
  • Allergens trapped in old carpet
  • Lower resale value
HardwoodAdds the most value and can be refinished for decades.
Luxury vinyl plankWaterproof, durable, and budget-friendly for busy rooms.
TileThe standard for bathrooms, entries, and other wet areas.

Types of Flooring We Install

Different rooms and budgets call for different materials. Pricing factors

What Affects the Cost of Flooring Installation

Every flooring estimate is built for the specific home, because the material, the condition of the subfloor, and the layout of the rooms all change the work involved. Instead of a generic price list, we review the factors below during a free in-home visit and give you a written price before any work begins.

Flooring costs depend on:

  • Square footage
  • Material selected
  • Removal of existing flooring

Also considered:

  • Subfloor preparation
  • Stairs, closets, and transitions
  • Furniture moving

We can supply the flooring from our vendors or install material you have purchased, and your written proposal shows exactly what is included.

Before and After: Carpet Replaced With Plank Flooring

Hallways and entries show installation quality right away, because every seam, cut, and transition is in plain sight. In this home, our crew pulled up the worn carpet and the cracked entry tile, prepared the subfloor, and installed continuous dark wood-look planks from the front door through the hallway and living areas.

Flooring Installation vs Related Services

New flooring is not always the answer. If your existing floor is solid hardwood in sound condition, refinishing is usually the better value, and kitchen and bathroom remodels already include new floors. The table shows what each service does, so you can choose the option that fits the condition of your home.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Flooring Installation

These answers cover the questions homeowners ask most often about flooring installation: timing, materials, preparation, and what to expect. If your question is not listed, call Malveira Home Renovation at (470) 712-5294 and our team will explain the options for your home in plain language.

How long does flooring installation take?

Most single rooms are installed in one day. Whole-home projects usually take 3 to 7 days, depending on the material, the amount of old flooring to remove, and how much subfloor preparation is needed. Your written estimate includes the full schedule, room by room, before any work starts.

Which flooring is best for kitchens and bathrooms?

Luxury vinyl plank and tile are the best choices for kitchens and bathrooms, because both are waterproof and handle spills, mopping, and humidity without swelling. Hardwood and laminate are better suited to living areas and bedrooms, where water exposure is low and comfort underfoot matters more.

Can you install flooring over my existing floor?

Sometimes. Luxury vinyl plank and laminate can go over some existing hard floors that are flat and well attached, which saves removal time. Carpet always has to come out first. We confirm what is possible during the estimate, after checking the floor and the height at doors and transitions.

Do you supply the flooring or can I buy my own?

Both options work. We can supply materials from our vendors and include them in your proposal, or we can install flooring you have already purchased. If you buy your own, we help you confirm the quantity, the underlayment, and the trim pieces needed before the material is delivered to your home.

Does hardwood need to acclimate?

Yes. Solid and engineered wood flooring sits inside the home for several days before installation, so it adjusts to the temperature and humidity of the rooms. Skipping this step can cause gaps or cupping later. We plan the delivery date so acclimation is complete before installation day.

What is the difference between LVP and laminate?

Luxury vinyl plank is a waterproof vinyl product, while laminate has a wood-fiber core with a printed surface and is not waterproof. Both look like wood and resist scratches. LVP is the better choice for kitchens, bathrooms, and basements, and laminate works well in dry rooms on a tighter budget.

Do you install stairs?

Yes. We install treads, risers, and nosings that match the new floor, so the stairs and the rooms around them look like one project. Stairs take more cutting and fitting than open floor areas, so they are priced per step and listed separately in your written estimate.

Will new flooring increase my home’s value?

Yes. Hardwood and quality luxury vinyl plank are among the updates buyers notice first, and replacing worn carpet or damaged floors helps a home show better and sell faster. Continuous flooring across the main level also makes rooms look larger, which is a common goal before listing a home.

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes. Malveira Home Renovation offers free in-home estimates with no obligation for flooring installation in every area we serve. We measure every room, check the subfloor and transitions, bring material samples, and give you a written scope and price before any work is scheduled.
